Girl Child Points in Delhi Nursery Admission: Which Schools Give 5 to 25 Points

By JEC Expert Team on 23 October 2026

Many families in the same neighbourhood distance slab end up with the same base score. In that situation, a small category can decide who stands higher. Some Delhi schools give girl child points, from 5 to 25, and at a few schools this is one of the biggest single boosts in the whole criteria. Others bundle it with first-child points, or ask for an affidavit. This guide compares how well-known Delhi schools handle girl child points, so you know what to claim and what to submit.

Points, categories and documents change from session to session. Please confirm the current criteria in each school's official admission notice before applying.

Why Girl Child Points Matter When Scores Tie

At most schools, neighbourhood distance is the largest part of the score, and it is the same for every family in a distance slab, for example 0 to 3 km or 0 to 6 km. Sibling and alumni points help only the families who qualify, so many applicants are left level on base points.

A girl child category adds a fixed number of points on top of the base score. A 25-point category can move an applicant a long way up a list, while a 5-point category only separates close scores. The size of the boost depends on the school, so compare each school's number rather than assuming a standard value.

1. High-Impact Girl Child Points (20 to 25 Points)

  • Sneh International School (Preet Vihar), 25 points: One of the highest standalone gender boosts among the schools in this guide. With 30 points for 0 to 8 km neighbourhood distance, a girl applicant in that slab reaches 55 base points before sibling or alumni points are added.
  • G.D. Goenka Public School (Vasant Kunj), 20 points: A dedicated 20-point allocation for Girl Child. Together with the road distance criteria, a girl applicant can reach up to 60 base points.

At both schools the points depend on gender, as shown on the Birth Certificate, so check that your child's certificate and online form match.

2. Girl Child Points With No Extra Paperwork

  • The Mother's International School (Aurobindo Marg), 10 points: Points are awarded automatically when you select "Girl" as the gender during online registration. Beyond the standard Municipal Birth Certificate, no extra paperwork is needed.
  • St. Gregorios School (Janakpuri Sector 11), 5 points: A copy of the Birth Certificate is attached at verification.
  • Ahlcon Public School (Mayur Vihar), 5 points: No affidavit is required for Girl Child. The 5 points are shared with the Single Parent and First Child categories.

3. Girl Child or First-Born: Points Shared Between Categories

Several schools do not give separate points for each category. They put girl child and first child in one joint category, so you do not add them together.

  • Venkateshwar Global School (Rohini), 10 points: Points are awarded under the joint Girl Child / First Child parameter.
  • K.R. Mangalam World School (Vikaspuri and GK), 10 points: Joint category points for Girl Child or First Child.
  • Salwan Public School (Rajinder Nagar), 10 points: Points for either First Born or Girl Child, with a maximum of 10 if both apply.
  • Ahlcon Public School (Mayur Vihar), 5 points: One merged allocation across Single Parent, Girl Child and First Child.

The practical point: a first-born girl at one of these schools gets the same points as a first-born boy or a younger girl, not a double boost. Read the category wording closely, and see our first-born points and affidavit guide for how first-child status is declared.

The Venkateshwar Affidavit Exemption

At Venkateshwar Global School (Rohini), a first-born boy needs an affidavit signed by both parents. The school's guidelines state that no affidavit is required if the first-born is a girl child. If your first-born is a girl, you save time on notary and stamp paper.

4. The "Single Girl Child" Rule at Air Force Bal Bharati School

Air Force Bal Bharati School (Lodhi Road) gives 5 points for a Single Girl Child. This category is strict:

  • The applicant must be the family's only child, with zero living siblings. A family with two children is not eligible, even if the older child is a girl.
  • You must execute an affidavit on ₹100 non-judicial stamp paper, following the school's attached specimen format (Appendix A).
  • The affidavit must be attested before a Notary Public.

A single girl child is also a first-born, but a first-born girl with a younger sibling does not qualify for this category. For the difference between the two, see our first-born guide.

Which Schools Need an Affidavit for Girl Child Points?

Sneh International SchoolNo. Municipal Birth Certificate confirming female gender
G.D. Goenka Public School (Vasant Kunj)No. Online gender selection verified with the Birth Certificate
The Mother's International SchoolNo. Checkbox on the online form
St. Gregorios SchoolNo. Birth Certificate copy at verification
Ahlcon Public SchoolNo, for Girl Child
Venkateshwar Global SchoolNo, if the first-born is a girl. Yes, for a first-born boy
Air Force Bal Bharati SchoolYes. ₹100 stamp paper affidavit, attested by a Notary Public

For Salwan and K.R. Mangalam, check the school's notice for the proof it asks for under their joint categories, since this post does not list a document for them.

How to Claim Girl Child Points Correctly

  1. Read the category name in the school's current notice. "Girl Child", "First Child" and "Single Girl Child" are different categories.
  2. Check whether points are shared. Many schools give one set of points for several categories, not one for each.
  3. Select the right gender on the online form, where the school uses a checkbox, and make sure it matches the Birth Certificate.
  4. Keep the Municipal Birth Certificate ready, since several schools verify gender against it.
  5. Prepare the affidavit early if the school requires one, as at Air Force Bal Bharati School.
  6. Add the points to your base score to see where the child may stand, and compare at least a few schools.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Adding girl child and first-born points together at schools that put them in one joint category.
  • Claiming single girl child points with a sibling. At Air Force Bal Bharati School, zero siblings are allowed.
  • Using the wrong stamp paper value. The school asks for ₹100 paper.
  • Skipping notary attestation on the Air Force Bal Bharati affidavit.
  • Forgetting the affidavit for a first-born boy at Venkateshwar, while a first-born girl needs none.
  • A gender mismatch between the online form and the Birth Certificate.
  • Assuming a high girl child score guarantees a seat. Seats are limited, and the final result depends on the applicant pool at each school.

Our Verdict

Girl child points can be worth anywhere from 5 to 25 points, so the same child can stand very differently at two schools. Compare the number and the category wording at every school on your list, check whether the points are shared with first-child points, and prepare the right document, whether that is a Birth Certificate, an online checkbox or a notarised affidavit. Then add the points to your distance score to build a realistic shortlist.

Admission rules, points and documents change every year. Please confirm them on each school's official notice before applying.
